The real time search
It seems that Microsoft and Google’s search engines are pointing out to a new profit horizon. Up to now, the real time information has not been integrated in the “Giants†plans.
At the Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco, Microsoft’s sketched out two non exclusive search deals with Facebook and Twitter which will integrate real time status updates and tweets into Bing’s search results.
For Microsoft this step represents a better understanding of user intent with Bing. And for users, the deal means obtaining real time search results about what people are tweeting.
Bing’s integration with the main social networks indicates that real time search is now a reality! This step forward will be a huge window of opportunity for marketers. They will be able to post real time ads, identify and predict which seasonal items will be top sellers in the future. Moreover, real time marketing will make marketing projects clearer as marketers will be able to predict the amount of money they will need, their inventory, etc.
Google’s reaction was an intention of offering a dedicated to search Twitter and to blend Twitter posts into its main search results. Marissa Mayer, Google’s vice president for search and user experience, said that the deal with Twitter will improve their relevance, comprehensiveness and quality.
Nobody wants to be left apart! The “Giants†are now conquering the up to now untouched real time area. It’s a big step for the Internet world: one that will keep on revolutionizing communications and optimizing marketing and sales strategies.
